Synopsis

Album Description
2008 two CD set featuring two albums from former Love Affair/Mott The Hoople keyboardist Morgan Fischer under this slightly Punk/New Wave sounding pseudonym.. Hybrid Kids' self titled album from 1979 was a collection of classic songs by musical behemoths The Beatles, Kate Bush, The Sex Pistols, The Righteous Brothers, Brotherhood Of Man and others performed in a style as diametrically opposite to the original as one can imagine. This bizarre album was originally conceived (with the collusion of Iain McNay, Cherry Red's boss) as a spoof compilation album featuring a variety of 'bands' from Peabody, an obscure little town in Kansas (at that time American towns like Cleveland and Akron were viewed upon as hot-beds of modern Rock music). When this concept was stated on the radio and in the press, quite a number of people believed it! In truth, it was all made by Morgan. Claws was the 1980 follow-up featuring twisted and dark versions of Christmas classics. Cherry Red.

CD Reviews

The strangest music ever!!!

(5 out of 5 stars)

"This is a great album, very, very strange. how can I describe the music manic, funny, scary, eerie. it is live being in a funhouse at the fair being chased by unhinged killers with rubber knives. if you play this CD for a date and she jumps out of the car into oncoming traffic she is not the intended audience for this music. If she laughs and asks for more, marry her."
