Synopsis

Product Description
From Raton, New Mexico "The Fireballs" formed in 1957 to become early pioneers of the guitar instrumental sound that was so very influential to budding musicians of the era.

Although commonly and erroneously referred to as "surf" guitar, George Tomsco's distinctive style had a unique sound of its own, captured brilliantly by Norman Petty at his Clovis, New Mexico studio.

This 4 CD set compiles all of the titles recorded by the group between 1958 and 1969 under their various monikers such as "Guitars Inc.", "George Tomsco & The Dots", "Lupe", "The String-A-Longs" and 2 tracks by drummer Eric Budd under the alias of "Curly Whistle".

Also featured are unreleased Petty Studio demos by Chuck Tharp, and George Tomsco has dug out the earliest recordings of the band that were recorded on acetate disc in the summer of 1958.

137 tracks
6 albums: The Fireballs / Torquay / Blue Fire / Vaquero / Campusology / Wide World Hits
24 songs that have never been available on CD.
All tracks were captured at high resolution off the vintage Norman Petty Studios master tapes.

4 CDs in a 8 panel eco-wallet, detailed with recording & release dates.
