Synopsis

Product Description
Rock and Roll was made for the stage. The blazing lights, the pumping speakers, the throngs of people screaming for more, there is nothing like it. The Cotton Soeterboek Band has captured the energy of the live rock n roll experience on Twisted, their new album that's infused with great hooks and inspired performances that reminds you of what music used to be like. Blending British hard rock from the 70's with Southern rock sensibilities, a bit of blues and a touch of modern influences to create rock and roll at its finest. They let their eclecticism shine through out -- bringing in diverse elements that differentiates them from other hard rock acts. This fusion gives a distinct flavor to the entire album and is a fresh take on the hard rock genre that started with bands like Deep Purple and Whitesnake and is proudly carried on with the Cotton Soeterboek band. Set Me Free starts off the album with distorted guitars and heavy drums that embody the spirit of 70s rock giants. The band captures the listener s attention with soulful vocals, a fiery solo and emotionally intense lyrics. The melding of album oriented hard rock, blues and country is evident in the upbeat and memorable chorus. When the gritty Pretty Maureen comes in with stereo vocal harmonies you know you re in for a straight up rocker. This song takes the album to a slightly darker level, which continues into the title track Twisted . Once again, we re treated to crunching guitar riffs and a catchy chorus that is peppered with a blues-rock feel. The rock ballads Colorado and the slower Leave Me Blue both show a deeper sensitive side to the Cotton Soeterboek Band. The chorus of Colorado instantly sounds like a single; you can feel the emotion in the descending vocal melody and heart felt lyrics. The soulful piano and organ, along with the arpegiated guitar lines, complete the bluesy feel in Leave Me Blue . Little Sister leaves some nice spaces for the bass and organ to shine through the gospel style harmonies in the refrain. The band goes into a more classic Southern rock feel with Gold and Gray and Still of the Night , which invoke the musical atmosphere of a roadhouse off some Alabama highway. Their final song The Game starts heavy and raw, but ends with the very heart of the Cotton Soeterboek Band s music -- a mix of genres with a bluesy-rock edge. The Cotton Soeterboek Band s Twisted is a must-have album for the next generation of hard rock enthusiasts.
So sit back, close your eyes, and just listen... Kim Gardner
