Synopsis

Album Description
2009 album from the veteran British Punk outfit, still featuring all four original members. The Adicts hail from Ipswich, Suffolk, England and were one of the most popular 'old school' Punk bands throughout the '80s, '90s and beyond. Their song 'Viva La Revolution' was featured in the video game Tony Hawk's Underground and in commercials for the E! channel advertising their reality television show Pop Fiction. The band formed in late 1975 and became known for their distinctive Clockwork Orange droog image, which, along with their urgent, up-tempo music and light-hearted lyrics, helped set them apart from other Punk bands. They remain one of the most entertaining bands live, Punk or otherwise, and continue to release albums filled with top notch Punk/Pop tunes. EMI.

CD Reviews

Adicts Life Goes On is another classic.

(5 out of 5 stars)

"According to the Adicts sight, the new album will come out November 27th in Europe with no mention of a U.S. date. My guess would be early January. I have seen January 4th as a tentative date. Enough with rumor, lets get to the facts.

Life Goes On is another great album from the Adicts. It's full of catchy sing alongs and an over all good time. The cd has 13 tracks with a hidden song at the end. The hidden song is actually a reprise of the song Gangster (track 7 on the cd). As with the last studio album Rollercoaster, the Adicts just added a reprise of 1 of the songs on the cd. I have heard this cd a few times. It is out, but very very hard to find. A friend from Germany found a copy. Supposedly the album did come out very briefly in Germany, but the company manufacturing the cd's went under before a full press run could be completed.

All in all the new cd is very good. I enjoyed Rollercoaster and I even enjoyed Rise and Shine. The Adicts prove with Life Goes On that you can still have fun in music without the corporate Major Labels imposing their will on your artistic expression. Yes, the last few Adicts cd's have been a little tough to find in your local music store, but I would trade working to find a good cd over listening to the same pre-made garbage that the record industry wants to call "Music". Music is not 5 writers recycling the same song for the teeny-poppers without live musicians. Real music is what the Adicts are, original and fun. 30 years in and the Adicts are still going strong. I can't wait for this to come out in the states. A real treat, do yourself a favor and pick this up when it comes out. Well worth it."
