Synopsis

Product Description
Terremoto is the Spanish and Portuguese word for earthquake, intended to symbolize the sonic concept of Luis Guerra and Michael Longoria. The roots of Terremoto's music are of a global nature, mixing rhythmic styles from Brazil and Cuba with an American fusion of DJ styles, drum n-bass, break beat, be-bop, and backbeat. At the core of the group are two musicians from south Texas who have toured as a rhythm section and played with various artists such as Patty Griffin, Kim Richey, Alejandro Escovedo, Amos Lee, Buddy Miller, Bob Schneider, Kevin Hays, and the Indigo Girls. "Shadows From The Jungle" features Grammy-nominated songwriter Patty Griffin as well as horn guru Phillipe Vieux (of Carlos Patato Valdez, Eddie Palmieri, and Tito Puente). Terremoto has produced music for film and dance performances and continues to study and search for knowledge in ethnic musical styles. Terremoto recently toured the U.S. (2006-2007) with Patty Griffin.
