Solid 80's era pop/rock album

"1991's Wanderlust is the second album from Tami Show, a pop/rock band active towards the end of the 1980's. Tami Show featured sisters Cathy and Claire Massey (third Massey sister Kristen split to form the band Siren), and played melodic pop/rock that wasn't as rockin' as Saraya or Vixen, and not as catchy as The Bangles or the Go-Go's.

I was hoping for something memorable here, and Wanderlust does have its moments, but the album is mostly average. There are some decent hooks and power chords here and there, but the songs never really grab you and rock out. The vocals are nice, and remind me a bit of Belinda Carlisle, but never show much in the way of power. There are a couple of really good songs ("Inside Out" and "If I Could Only Find You"), but they're outnumbered by the merely OK songs.

The whole album is like expecting a roller coaster and ending up with a bumpy train ride. It's not bad. It's not great. It's just...there. If this kind of middle of the road pop/rock is your cup of tea, you'll probably get more out of Wanderlust than I did.
