CD Reviews

His "T-ness Live(s) and Live(s) LIVE!
Michael G. Batcho | McAdoo, PA (USA) | 04/29/2003
(5 out of 5 stars)

"T. Graham Brown is today's voice of 'Southern Soul'--- his voice captures an entire range of emotions and delievers them from melodic to gravelly gut wrenching.
This album (a recording of a live concert in Nashville) gives us most of T's greatest hits. . . "live"!
My favorite track is "Hell and High Water". But another track which T. Graham performed on this concert with back-up by Bekka Bramlett (daughter of Delaney and Bonnie) is much better than his original studio recording- "Hide and Seek"- and Bekka definitely adds to the fun of this song! I actually believe his "live" performance and recordings on this album ALL are much better than his studio versions. Something magical happens to T. Graham when he's before a live audience . . . his voice, his emotion, his delivery take on whole new demensions that seem to get subdued in a studio.
I would recommend this CD to anyone who is a fan of T. Graham Brown, even if you already own his earlier recordings. I would recommend this CD to anyone who has never before listened to him as well. You will become a fan of his forever with just one play of this "T. Graham Brown Live(s)!
My thanks to "his T-ness" for all his great recordings. . . and especially for this live performance."
...still totin' the note...

"t. graham brown, the man, is one of the most passionate people around...t. graham brown, the singer, is also one of the most passionate people around, and it's easy to understand why...he's honest, pure and simple...in his voice, as well as in his life, the smokey country-blues soul of this brilliantly under-rated gifted individual is always there, and captured live, he's right there in front of you, pouring out that heart and soul...and whether it's the fun of "memphis women and chicken", the respectful cover of "dock of the bay", or the powerful honesty of "good days bad days", when it comes to your heart, t. can make it or break it...and when it comes to the painfully personal message of survival in the self-penned "wine into water",it's no question why tgb is still totin' the note..."
