Sweetbird's ?Soul Fire? is a sonic treasure chest filled with lyrical melodies, luscious harmonies, and beautiful arrangements. The record is a worthy follow up to the band's debut release "Free Spirit Reflection." Singer-songwriter Christine Yandell and guitarist-composer Steve Waite are backed by a host of world-class musicians on Soul Fire, which includes nine original compositions and two cover tunes, including a magical rendition of Emerson, Lake & Palmer's "Still... You Turn Me On." Soul Fire features a horn section that includes trumpeter Don Harris (Tower of Power, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Stevie Wonder, Celine Dion, James Taylor) and saxophonist Joe Meo. The record also features pedal steel guitar virtuoso John Widgren, pianist Nick Bariluk, and drummer Matt Moadel. The record was co-produced by Grammy-nominated composer Paul Avgerinos, who also played bass, cello, and keyboards on the record. Soul Fire was mastered by Michael Fossenkemper at Turtle Tone ! Studio in NYC.
