CD Reviews

Classic Graham Parker compilation
Kenny A | Perth, Western Australia | 09/04/2005
(4 out of 5 stars)

"Classic Parker from the mid/late 70's period. For those that don't know his material, this is mainly taken from his first few albums when Graham Parker and The Rumour were one of Britain's best white R&B bands, back when R&B really meant rhythm and blues!

Classic tracks like White Honey and Heat Treatment are typical of Parker's mix of rock and brass which had us dancing in pubs and halls at the time. Like any compilation other "greats" are missing but if you like what you hear, and I would thoroughly recommend a listen, then Howlin' Wind and Heat Treatment contain further classics of the British pre punk pub scene and reflect the best of Parker's early work."
