CD Reviews

Wow! I can't believe no one's reviewed this!

"I absolutely can't believe that I am the only person to review this title. This is by far the best 60s/early 70s Stevie Wonder anthology, the recent box set notwithstanding. It's got ALL his great 60's singles, including Alfie by rednow ievits. The remastering is asounding. Well worth the import price if you even a casual fan. Don't miss this, even if you've picked the new box set!"

"As a lifelong Stevie Wonder Fan if you want his early greatest hits 1963-1971 and a few sirprises, then Do Yourself A Favor and buy this! However,If you want a better collection with no filler(songs put on to take up space)then search for a collection called "Looking Back" and educate your mind. By the way a great collection his later material(72-75?)is Musicquarium Volume 1. there hasn't been a vol.2 yet."
A must for any SERIOUS Stevie Wonder fan

"And that's not to say that this is a plug and play disc. It isn't. A (very) few of the cuts are almost what I would consider to be bad. Some are marginal. But the vast majority are absolute classics. There are some very socially conscious songs here. (Like that's a surprise) And some with great emotion. My personal favorites have to be 1) Never had a dream come true 2) Blowin in the Wind and 3) A place in the sun.Essential is a perfect name for this collection. Can't go wrong."
