CD Reviews..a little more on the bright side... 07/24/1999 (4 out of 5 stars) "After the ultra-rootsy and very serious works "Handsworth Revolution" and "Tribute to the Martyrs", Steel Pulse underwent a change of both musical mood and producers. Depending on how far your reggae tastes go, this album may just be a two star purchase. The songs are light, soothing, more jazzy, a real 180 degree turn. But David Hinds vocals are still mesmerizing, and the band continues to show why they were the most versatile and talented of the early 80's reggae scene. Higher than High IS an amazing last song, proving that their choice of tone and style was deliberate, and that - if need be - they could re-evoke the spirituality and roots of their earlier work with their newfounded light-jazz optimism.Irie I."
