CD Reviews

Best reggae album you've never heard
D. Hartley | Seattle, WA USA | 07/17/2002
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Led by ex-Abyssinian guitarist Earl "Chinna" Smith, the Soul Syndicate put out several fine albums in the mid to late 70's, which unfortunately slipped under the public's radar in the U.S. (undoubtedly due to all the attention focused on Bob Marley at the time). Top-notch songwriting, musicianship and high production values abound. Standout tunes include the mesmerizing "Marywana" and the memorable title cut "Harvest Uptown". Fans of Third World, Black Uhuru, Mighty Diamonds or (of course!) the Abyssinians will eat this one up like the fellow on the album cover. This particular reissue is an excellent remaster. Highly recommended!"
Syndicating your irie feelings

"Sould Syndicate offers great music for the soul. It captures all of the good vibes that are present in the reggae beats. Soul Syndicate takes your mind for a vacation, specially with songs like New Vibrations, and Black Cinderella. This CD is a bridge to that irie feeling we all need to be in touch with."
