Synopsis

Album Description
This recording by Audrey and Paul Cienniwa reveals that Bach's viola da gamba sonatas can certainly be played on the cello piccolo with grace and beauty. The Cienniwas began playing as a duo in 1998 after meeting in Brussels. Since then, they have performed throughout New England and France. As specialists in historical performance, their repertoire includes masterworks of the baroque and pre-classical periods. "Prestigious ... magnificent ... masterful." -- Le Dauphiné Libéré

CD Reviews

Baby Got Bach!
Frank T. Cienniwa | Thomasville, GA | 07/18/2009
(5 out of 5 stars)

"I like some Bach and I can not lie

Good chamber music gets my buy

'Cos when a duo sets up in an itty bitty space

And a cello in your face

You get mello,

wanna pull out your smokes

Have coffee, Nutella and toast

Deep in the past they're playing

I'm hooked and I can't stop saying

Oh baby,

I gotta rewind this

and hit play on this disk

My punk friends try to dis me

But harpsichord makes me dizzy

Dig Johann Sebastian

I'm bumpin' it in my Benz.

Plus you should get the C D

'Cause bit rates blow on a M P 3

This ain't for dancin',

or Beethoven's romancin'

It's a baguette,

With Nutella and a cigarette

Baby, got Bach.

...I'm out"
