Synopsis

Album Description
2008 album from Tampa, FL's Metal maniacs, their eighth album overall. Vocalist Chris Barnes, along with guitarist Steve Swanson, bass legend Terry Butler, and drummer Greg Gall, continue to follow the dark and demented path that merges a tried and true Death groove with stomach-turning lyrics and themes. Death Rituals saw the band returning to Morrisound studios in Tampa, FL with Chris Carroll at the helm with mixing duties being handled by Toby Wright (Slayer, Korn, In Flames, Fear Factory, etc).

CD Reviews

Awesome

"This is by far Six Feet Under's best disc. What strikes me on the recording is the music is really great. I would argue the best I've heard from this band. And of course the godfather of death metal is in top form. I like his unique approach to death metal singing and like it or not, no one else in death metal sounds like Chris Barnes. Hail."

"There isn't much to debate when it comes to Six Feet Under. These guys have been around awhile now and it's doubtful they are winning over legions of new fans. Along comes "Death Rituals" and if you like SFU then don't hesitate to pick it up. It's what you'd expect from this band although I will say the production is probably the best of any SFU record. Good stuff."
Killing technique perfected

"Lets face it, these raw dogs are'nt gonna' change. But they can get better on their death and roll formula like they prove once again. You can complain about every release that comes out but its not gonna' make these dogs change their bark or bite. This batch of sick tunes were captured perfectly and the musicanship is top notch and of course the vocals are as sick as can be. Chris Barnes still entertains and Greg Gall's drumming is ultra inspired and energetic this time. More uptempo madness and less of those mid-paced grooves. You will still find some groovy moments in this bloody mess. Its sounds more focused this time around. They really perfected the killing method, New fans can start here and work their way back and feast !!"
