The best collection of Strauss Tenor arias.

"This CD explores the tenor's contribution to Richard Strauss operas. The arias are breathtaking, and are sung beautifully. Here the Emperor's aria is sung better than on Heppner's full length recording of "Frau Ohne Shatten". Apollo's aria is amazing as well. Heppner ownes every arias on this disc. His Guntram makes you wish he'd make a full length recording, as do all the arias and their respective operas. I haven't seen these arias collected together before, and that reason alone is enough to recommend this disc. More than that this disc is simply amazing, Heppner is recorded here at the begining of his carrer, and his voice is brillant, and exquisite. You simply must buy this CD, any Heppner or Strauss fan must have this in there collection."
