Amazon.com This MGM musical helps to epitomize the genre. The 1952 film starred Gene Kelly, Donald O'Connor, and Debbie Reynolds. Reynolds's tracks, particularly "All I Do Is Dream of You" tend to make her sound like one of the munchkins from The Wizard of Oz, which is unfortunate. It's Gene Kelly's songs that are the most enjoyable. The title track is still wonderful, and so engaging you'll want to swing on lightpoles all over town. An outtake of Kelly's version of "All I Do Is Dream of You" is another gem, and the M-G-M Studio Orchestra is at its flawless best throughout--even if some of the incidental music sounds like a Tex Avery cartoon score. --Scott Wilson Similar CDsSimilarly Requested CDs

CD ReviewsGotta love Singing in the Rain Jeannie Marie | Idaho | 07/18/2008 (5 out of 5 stars) "I had this album in my cart at iTunes waiting to buy and before I decided to buy (a few weeks later) you could no longer get the album you had buy songs only and some of the songs came up missing. I checked with Amazon and I could get the whole album cheaper than they had it listed at iTunes if I bought all the songs and Amazon had all the songs included in the album price. So... there you go."
