For their third in a series of cd e.p.'s, Silentist has added a vocalist, August Alston, formerly of Society of Friends, occasional tour vocalist for Iron Lung, currently of Walls and Lords of Light. Instrumentation is limited to use of primarily drums and voice, with either extremely distorted keyboards or claustrophobic piano passages. Only on the title track does bass guitar appear to battle a piano for prominence. The increasing lack of guitar has become a defining element for the band, who utilize a wide array of stylistic flourishes in pursuit of a unique perspective on compositional music in a punk context. Sounds like being chased by a psychopath down the halls of a hospital at midnight, then realizing the psychopath is you and everyone is dead.
