Synopsis

Product Description
Though she's only 25, Canada-based songstress Serena Ryder is already a world-traveled artist, hailed by No Depression for her 'Pipes. Presence. Potential.' Elle noted that 'When Serena Ryder sings about love, the most jaded world weariness dissolves.' Now the singer/songwriter Billboard declared to be 'Canada's Most Promising' is poised to present herself to American audiences with her new Atlantic Records release, 'is it o.k', available September 15th. Serena Ryder is a truly eclectic spirit, whose passion for music spans a wide array of styles, from folk and country to jazz, blues, and rock 'n' roll. At 15, Serena left her home in Ontario, Canada and began playing countless shows, both as solo artist and as singer in a number of local combos. Ryder toured across her native Canada, Australia and France. She has toured extensively with such great acts as Steve Earle, Randy Bachman and Burton Cummings of The Guess Who, The Corrs, Blind Boys of Alabama, Eric Hutchinson, Paolo Nutini, Stephen Kellogg, Matt Duke and many more! With the release of her Atlantic Records debut, Serena Ryder continues on her path of becoming one of the most revered female singer/songwriters of her generation and at this rate, it doesn't look like she's slowing down anytime soon.

CD Reviews

Very refreshing!!
SciFi | Lehighton, PA | 12/09/2009

"I never heard of Serena Ryder until a few months ago. I saw her on you tube doing a cover of Springsteen's "Racing in the Streets". I was in awe of her dynamic vocals and delivery. So, when this CD came out here in the states I decided to pick it up. What a refreshing, new sound to hear. Un-like so much of todays over produced same ol' same ol' record industry by products, Serena has a style all her own and her voice is absolutely captivating and infectious.

If you haven't heard her yet, I highly recommend you give her a listen. "Is it O.K." is great CD."
This album is a gem...

"I haven't heard an album this good in quite a while. Of the hundreds of albums I've picked up in the past year, this one rates in the top ten with no problem whatsoever. Simple as that."
AMAZING SINGER - EVEN BETTER LIVE

"I first saw Serena Ryder at a live show, opening for Paulo Nutini, about 2 years ago. SHE ABSOLUTELY BLEW ME AWAY! I left the concert anxious to get my hands on some of her music, and was dismayed when I couldn't find much. I am thrilled that this album's been released. It does not disappoint! Her voice is incredible, her lyric are intelligent and I absolutely can't wait for more. If you get a chance to see her live - don't miss it. The album's spectacular and her live performance tops that."
