Listen a Second

"Usually a film soundtrack is filled with songs by artists that have an extra song in their repitoire that they didn't feel was good enough for their own latest release, so they sell it off to a movie. It can also be an album where new artists can get the opportunity to be spotlighted with seasoned veterans.

The Second Chance though true with the second rule, does not hold to the first. It is very obvious that the veterans on this album really dedicated time to the creation of this album. I guess when Michael W. Smith and Steve Taylor speak, people listen!

Third Day opens the album with a pleasant piece, "Movin' On Up". Jars of Clay perform the best rendition of "Nothing But The Blood" I've ever heard. With solid moments with Fred Hammond and Ruben Studdard there is pleanty of inspiration throughout.

But the album virtually belongs to Michael W. Smith, with 9 tracks more than doubling everyone else. His shining moments are reminiscent of his "Worship" albums. His best showing being his cover of "The Solid Rock". Though I'm usually not a big fan of his dance hits, his remix with 21:03 of his song "Hang On" is wonderful and you'll find your head bobbing along with it's driving beat. He also has four soothing Instrumental tracks, my favorite being "Footwashing" giving the listener a sense of humbleness and peace.

The album is overall pleasant, and an inspiring album. Not anything profound musically, but definately one of the most solid performances for a soundtrack sacred or secular."
Awesome!

"Awesome CD - A must have for Michael W. Smith fans, and Christian music fans! All in the Serve is the first single - great song. Hang On is the best on the CD... upbeat - your kids will ove dancing to it!"

"This CD is a great fusion of Christian gospel and Christian rock. Don't know anything about the movie this soundtrack is from, but I'm really glad I came across this cd. Great praise music from great Christian artists."
