CD Reviews

A Sublime Intergalactic Fiesta!

(5 out of 5 stars)

"This cd is a merging of latin music(s) and cutting edge electronica. Senior Coconut (Atom Heart of Flanger fame) also does a cd of latin styled Kraftwerk songs (five stars for that as well) but unlike that vocal oriented cd, this cd is mainly instrumental (with ocasional background-vocal embellishments). The production is astounding -very precise and clean and the sheer invention of the electronics and sampled music is downright inspiring. It's very danceble but I like it for working on the computer as it puts me in a cyber-kind of mood. It states at the bottom of the cd cover 'triggering the latin subconscious' which really sums it up. It's fun, far-out, at times surreal, and most of all groovey! Some tracks are mad/scientist/latin-pop while others are cool, mellow and mysterioso like one of my favorites, 'La Noche Cool' -serene tropical dream music. Through it all, Senior Coconut keeps things changing and it's all in a very positive creative spirit with scads of sonic humor thrown in. If you enjoy latin rythyms and electronic explorations you can't miss with this. BUY IT! You'll be glad you did..."
