Synopsis

Product Description
Debut album, Screen Door Porch, was recognized in these BEST-OF lists:Roots Music Reports Top 100 Folk Albums, NPR s Best of Wyoming, Tupelo Honey s Top 20 Americana Releases, Twangville s Top 100 Releases, American Roots UK, Editor's Top 25 Picks. Much like their stomping ground under the Teton Mountains of Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Screen Door Porch s music evokes open space, dramatic textures, and a genuine character that steeps within your psyche from the first experience. Residing in the country s least populated state as an Americana-Soul/Alt-Country/Folk-Blues/Rock band has its own set of demands and challenges but ultimately, the rewards of a Porch view are forged through introspective song. The core singer-songwriter/multi-instrumentalist duo of South-to-West transplants Seadar Rose and Aaron Davis have fleshed out a batch of lush roots-rockers and a few stripped-down acoustic arrangements on their sophomore gem, The Fate & The Fruit (2012). Both infectiously grooving and intuitively intelligent, the roots-rock album delves into subjects of life s adversities and triumphs, taking chances and getting knocked down, yet decidedly resilient amongst the fray. The new release is a follow up to 2010 s debut LP, Screen Door Porch, which climbed to #16 on the FAR chart and was lauded by The Austin Chronicle as a combination that goes down as smoothly as top-self bourbon. Maverick Magazine made a connection that Rose s vocals have the languid drawl of Lucinda Williams, while Davis sounds like Whiskeytown-era Ryan Adams. Both albums were recorded at Ramble Creek Studio in Austin, Texas with co-producer Britton Beisenherz and feature the elements that have subtlety taken the project from a jam on the porch to a band with a grassroots following. The range of instrumentation, song craft and female/male vocal harmonies are at the forefront of Screen Door Porch s appeal. Coupled with an energetic on-stage show, the band s magnetism has put them on festival, theater and club stages from coast-to-coast. Screen Door Porch performs both as a DUO (acoustic & electric guitars, banjo, mandolin, kazoogle, harmonica, and suitcase kickdrum!) and a QUARTET (with the consummate rhythm section of Tom Davidson on fretless bass and Andy Peterson on drums). Also aiding in the perpetual growth of their fan base, Rose and Davis have been fortunate to share concert and festival bills with Wilco, Willie Nelson, Brian Wilson, Yonder Mountain String Band, James McMurtry, Grace Potter & The Nocturnals, Jason Isbell & the 400 Unit, Anders Osborne, Malcolm Holcombe, The Ragbirds and Jalan Crossland, as well as appearances at South by Southwest, Americana Music Festival (backing Jim Avett), Grand Teton Music Festival, Jackson Hole Music Festival, Sawtooth Music Festival, Magic City Blues Fest, Nowoodstock Fest, Music on Main Victor, Soundcheck Festival, Beartrap Summer Festival, and Oyster Ridge Music Festival among others. Screen Door Porch scored Silver in Jackson Hole Weekly s 2012 Best of JH Reader s poll for Best Band Playing Original Music, and Bronze for Best Album Release (despite not releasing an album in 2011).
