CD Reviews

An engaging and seductive cd that makes you beg for more...
Donielle M. Johnson | Columbus, Ohio | 12/01/2005
(5 out of 5 stars)

"It's not within my norm to do reviews, however, when I find a cd that exemplifies the epitome of "all that is good" I am compelled to write.

This album is beautifully crafted to mesmerize your soul from beginning to end. I find myself pushing the repeat button after every song just to experience it all over again. Each song is perfected with just the right combination of musical composition, tone of voice, sensuality and poetic imagery. I love the deeply rooted sincere and blunt realism in such tracks as "Miserably Unnecessary", "Sensuality" and "When I was Owned" Woods indeed makes this listeners experience feel like she is on a journey discovering what love is over and over again.

I am anxiously anticipating hearing his next creative mark in this music industry. I, for one will be first to buy!

One of the future most slept on artists in the "Mood Music"
T. Q. Gilbert | Madison, WI USA | 11/25/2005
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Although I don't believe it should, as a product of the Hip-Hop Generation it usually suprises me how wonderfully beautiful and insightful some music can still be when it does not come pre-packaged and processed by the whims and demographics of Mainstream Music America (and particularly if it's of the more sensual nature). Reluctantly, I must admit that some artists I enjoy would not be even nearly as palatable had they not come complete with their own built-in computerized talent and recording budget support.

Scott Woods is in no way, shape, or form the latter, and I am made a much better music connoiseur for it.

From the opening through to the very last lines of "Love Jones" I was thoroughly impressed with the album's complex mixture of honesty and confidence. Particularly as one who is not a true downtempo/bass follower, I was also largely enthused by Woods's ability to keep me entranced throughout with the perfect combination of sexy melodies, seductive voice tones, solid beats, and engaging storylines. I felt my listening experience in my gut--an honest induction into what full, wholistic, love-making and love-living for must be like.

Scott Woods will be making good music for many years to come...it's up to you if you will choose to experience your share. I did, and I can say it was well worth the time and money spent."
