Laurson | Washington, DC United States | 04/28/2007 (5 out of 5 stars) "I've heard at least four new recordings of these concertos in the last year (Hope, Josefowitz, Kachatryan) - and Steinbacher's need not shy from comparison with the best... not the best of the recent ones nor, indeed, the best in the catalogue. Consider Khachatryan's (naive) also, though.
This is largely to state that if you had accidentially searched for "Schostakowitsch" on US-Amazon, and found only one recording of the "Violinkonzerte" (who at Amazon puts in these titles without adjusting for the language differences??), at least you found a very good one. Hopefully it will be included in regular searches with the appropriate tags which were the primary reason for this excuse of a review." |
