CD Reviews

Excellent Art/Dance Punk
04/24/2003
(4 out of 5 stars)

"So I saw S Process open for And You Will Know Us By the Trails of Dead, I liked their CD, so I bought the CD from their merch table ... . My first listen was pretty lousy, which may have been because my ears were still recovering from the night before, or it's just that type of album. However, after listening to it 3 or 4 times, I'm really in love with it.
S Process is reminiscent of that late 70s artpunk sound but they aren't trying to be Wire or Gang of Four, they definitely have their own sound. S Process KNOWS how to incorporate the disco/synth stuff, unlike the Gang of Four ("I love a Man in Uniform" IS AWFUL). Riffs, beats, lines and vocals are all hot, simultaneously stimulating your brain and your feet. The production on this album is excellent; the sound is warm but clear and the effects are tasteful.
There are no tracks that beg skipping, and this isn't a because S Process is afraid to explore, it's because each track is quality. I'm not gonna give this disc 5 stars, because people should reserve that sort of thing for, I dunno, a classic. This isn't a classic but it's...good.Before you buy Rogers Sister or the Numbers, check out S Process first. ..."
It's love!

"OK. So I had hear so much about this mysterious band. rarely playing shows; careless towards all genres; bearded sermon singer; and ampliphonicly loud girl drummer. but I never could find out anything else about them let alone see them. than I saw them in Columbus OH. Amazing! nothing more to say. bought the record and Im blown away by how perplexed I am about his bands sound. What exactly do they sound like? theyre not disco punk. theyre not 80s. theyre not anything like anything. dang this stuff is good!"
