Synopsis

Album Description
For a band that released just three singles and had no significant commercial success, the story of Rupert's People is enormously complicated. The band went through three separate line-ups, and none of the musicians who were in the iteration that was by far the longest lasting and most visible played on their most celebrated single. What ultimately matters most, though, are the records they left behind. And the Rupert's People releases contained some good period late-'60s British psychedelic pop, particularly the one record that psychedelic collectors tend to be familiar with, "Reflections of Charles Brown."

CD Reviews

Magic of rupurt's people

"A collective of their hits . Includes a very good booklet inside with history of band. Some tracks also appear on the Fleur de Lys album. Best songs for me are hold on and reflections on Charles Brown. (good original of Reflection on the album also) also includes a previously unreleased track direct from original acetate but a good sound none the less. I personally was disappointed with the live tracks at a reunion in 1999 which consists of covers of songs by the beatles, rolling stones and the small faces. Overall worth a listen."

"It seems that all the reviews that I have been writing, start off with I own the original vinyl singles or lps. Well, this is no exception. I own the original import vinyl single of "I Can Show You" b/w I've Got the Love" and the original domestic vinyl single of "Reflections of Charles Brown" b/w "Hold On". These two singles are among masterpieces of classic works of classics. And,again, because of these 2 singles, I purchased this disc. This time, unlike "Ice Man" by Ice,it was different. I really think that all the music is great, even the one that has a bad audio sound. This is a treasure chest of a disc. Great, great songs and I like the reunion concert. Hey, if you can still get up there and belt out tunes like these guys at their age, you've got a good thing going. Not like some groups that get up there and they are on their last leg. I need not go any further. If you like 60's British rock and psychedelia, get it! I highly recommend it!"
