All you circuit boys - this is the Summer 2004 anthem!

"Every summer...there's a dance song playing out at the Gay Disney dance parties, at all of the PRIDE dances, and blasting it's way thru the dance floors around the country - all thru the hot summer. Last summer, Beyonce's "Crazy in Love" was one such song. "Cha Che Heels" is THIS SUMMERS song. This single from Abel & Ralphi Rosario is a play on words, "Cha Cha" in Miami (or atleast in gay Latin circles) means a really effeminate Latin gay guy. Someone who dresses & acts a little campy, dresses a little ostentatious and loves "cha cha" music...or really vocal latin house music. This song ignites the dance floors here in Miami (Abel's been spinning it regularly at his Friday's at Club Space recently). Everyone gets Rosabels "joke" in this song - and the "Oye" samples (that Rosabel stole from their OWN remix of Gloria Estefan) send feathers flying on the dancefloors (!) File under Summer 2004 & play this LOUD at the beach on your portable stereo! Everyone will ask you "who is that"?"

The big room mix is a bomb!!!!!!!

"Totally agree this is the song of the summer. It was the absolute peak moment of the post-Pride tea dance at Ruby Skye in San Francisco. I thought boys were going to fly off the balcony, they were so excited!"

"This song is like the "Dive In The Pool" series of like minded songs that have come around in the last few years. The basic idea of the song is a call and respond vocals by legandary club diva Jeanie Tracy who last performed with Rosabel on the number one track "The Power". The song's music is latin with horn samples from Gloria Estefan's "Oye" but no label credit is given but it is "Oye". Also there is a sample from Debbie Harry from Hairspray where she goes "1-2-Cha Cha Cha" --listen you will hear it too. The first 3 tracks are basically the same mix with the Big Room Mix a bit harder in sound. The Tony Moran /Warren Rigg mix is a little more smoother in sound but still latin and with less samples. A nice set of remixes but not as great as "The Sound","Don't You Want My Love" or "The Power". Listing:

"Went to a convention in The Big Easy Labor Day weekend in 2004. Thought I would be spending a lot of time sitting in workshops and breakout sessions in some swanky hotel. Well, I did do that but I also got to go to the French Quarter where there was something called Southern Decadence going on.

I was walking down some cobblestone street with some guys and girls when we came upon this stage sitting in the middle of the street, so we decided to stop and see what the deal was. Lo and behold two divas stood right before my very eyes! I recognized Martha Wash since I had her CD, but I didn't know that the other woman was Jeanie Tracy, and I didn't know that she was the voice behind "The Power" either.

Each of them took turns singing, and one of the tunes Jeanie did was "Cha-Cha Heels"! This is a high-powered number that really gets the kids a-jumpin'. Even though I'm more into rap and R&B, I love this song - particularly the first cut on the CD. I like the Latin rhythm and I like Jeanie's energetic performance - she's a powerhouse!"
