"Ronald Douglas' "Swingworks" is a terrific recording! It
is a varied selection of songs which Roanld handles easily,
and with great skill. Listening to the recording, and you
would not be aware that he is from Holland. It's obvious
that he has listened and learned from all the great singers
of the American Songbook. My favorite cuts are "There's No
You"(Ronald includes the verse), "Someone To Light Up My Life"
(great guitar work), "Two For The Road", and "With EveryBreath I Take." This album rewards the listener with each replaying."

"To fans of beautiful songs, swinging repertoire and lovely interpretation, you must become acquainted with Ronald Douglas.
He is Dutch, and yet, so American-sounding.
I defey you to detect an accent, and he makes it all sound so easy! His song choices are interesting and wonderful,and his melodic and syncopated choices are right on the money. Ronald is always in full control of his instrument, something so lacking in too many of the current vocalists. He sings with warmth and feeling and really connects. Be sure to listen to a few of my favorites - No Moon At All,
Day By Day,and With Every Breath I Take. Each one so different, clearly demonstrating the versatility that only a good singer is able to exhibit. Heartily recommended to music lovers, American Songbook lovers and fans of quality vocal performances!"

"He swings, he goes deep in his ballads!! A great new discovery here on Amazon. You hear his influences....but is not copying. He has his own style. I am so pleased to hear this singer, finally a new male jazz-singer. Songs like: No Moon at all, There's no You (with verse!!), Someone to Light up my life (only with guitar), You're my everything etc....and for me the highlight of this cd: Cy Coleman's "With every Breath I take" is absolutely stunning!!!! I think this singer has american blood. Absolutely the singer I waited for, for many years. Buy this one!! You will love it. I didn't talk about the musicians....they are superb! I wish him all the best, I hope for him it will get enough attention here in the States. He deserves it."
