Synopsis

Album Description
First solo outing from the outstanding multi-instrumentalist for the Lynn Morris Band. International Bluegrass Music Association Fiddle Player of the Year, 2000. "Ron Stewart has Flatt & Scruggs in his deepest roots, the feel of a Mississippi blues man in his soul, and the firepower of a lightning storm on a summer's night in his touch. Just sit back and listen as Time Stands Still." -Lynn Morris, from her liner notes "Ron Stewart is the greatest musician I have ever had the pleasure of performing with. It doesn't get any better!" -Sammy Shelor (The Lonesome River Band) "Ron Stewart is one of my favorite musicians. He plays any instrument to perfection, not to mention he's a great singer and songwriter. When it comes to playing bluegrass fiddle you won't find any better!!" -Jason Carter (fiddler, The Del McCoury Band) Produced by Lynn Morris.

OUTSTANDING FRESHMAN EFFORT

(5 out of 5 stars)

"This is Ron Stewart's first solo recording and what a job he has done. It is true that he is no stranger to the bluegrass scene, playing banjo, fiddle and guitar for the Lynn Morris band he has drawn a lot of attention to his talents. And this CD will draw further attention to him. With 6 of the tracks on this CD being written by Stewart and 3 public domains that leaves only 3 songs that were written by others but they are all very good tracks. The CD starts with "The Girl I Love Don't Pay Me No Mind" with Stewart on lead vocal. While not what you would consider your typical bluegrass voice, his voice is engaging and he does a respectful job on the tracks he sings. Track two, "Blue Fiddler" is a self-penned instrumental and where the ablum begins to take off. With Stewart playing, throughout the course of this album, all of the instruments and some guest appearances by noted bluegrass pickers such as Dudley Connell, Rob Ickes, Sammy Shelor, Wayne Taylor, Jesse Brock and Marshall Wilborn this CD shines. CD's like this fly in the face of those who have said that their are no young pickers left to carry on the bluegrass tradition. With people like Ron Stewart involved in bluegrass music the future is secure. Buy this CD and you will see what I am talking about."
