CD Reviews

One of my ALL TIME favorites
Guardian of the Zen Sea | Looking after the sun and surf | 02/22/2001
(5 out of 5 stars)

"When I got this CD, I was living in Montreal, and was only really beginning to discover Canadian ambient/New Age music. At that time, Robert Haig Coxon was a professor at the University of Montreal, and a friend recommended that I have a listen to this CD. I was skeptical for fear that the music would be really "academic" sounding. It is not! This is the best of the four releases available from Mr. Coxon. It is almost like a subliminal symphony of musical harmonies that fill all those sound receptors in your mind. I really, really like this CD and am currently on my third copy. I use the music as the theme song for an "adult alternative" music program on Public Radio on Alaska, and once a year I play it all the way through for the first hour of the program. It never fails that folks call in to find out more about the music. As a side note, Steve Roach is credited as a collaborator on this CD, which may help to account for the pureness of the synthesizers. I know that Mr. Coxon provides the clarity of the musical thought."
Amazing CD every time I listen to it! Well worth the wait!

"This CD came across me by mistake and it is absolutely beautiful. This music is perfect for performing in any kind of mind/body ritual. The music flows so naturally it is often hard grasp the concept of time. Robert Haig Coxon is brilliant!"
A major gift to the music world

"Coxon has a compelling understanding of how music gets into our inner beings. I find all of his discs absolutely compelling and most days will find me listening to one all the way through first thing in the morning. Coxon is a credit to his craft."
