Synopsis

Album Description
A swirling, writhing progression of powerful teeth-gritting blues with the voluptuous depth of rock & roll and the heart and voice of a gospel choir, this is music you feel. Rob Halverson's music, likened to a mix between Tom Waits and the later Beatles, is a well-ordered jumble of all the traceable traits that make up the wonderful mutt called American music, ranging from smoky barroom blues delivered in a growl to straight-up gospel songs to new twists on gypsy-flavored pop tunes and everything in between.

CD Reviews

Scotland Discovers a Hidden Gem
Ian Hunter | Falkirk Scotland | 08/10/2000
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This album is simply extra-ordinary. Some may say an ecclectic mix I would say a masterful blend, from the very first track you are gripped by (as they say in France) "a certain something" and you are not sure what. As the album progresses some tracks wash over you with emotion such as Mastheads & Ride the Moon others have you sure this is an original unreleased 50's star. Wordy Blues is worthy of becoming a legend in it's lunchtime.I can hear shades of Tom Waits, Gordon Gano (Milwuakie connex . I guess) but the most strange for me is Alex Harvey - this boy Halverson can give them all a run for diversity & depth. As for the endless choice and variety of instrumentation this guy is a real talent. If you have not bought it buy it, if you have not heard it borrow it and if you ever see this guy billed as appearing live go along if you don't you WILL regret it."
