The Anti-Dixie Chicks
fredtownward | Palatine, Illinois United States | 05/24/2006
(5 out of 5 stars)

"As the Dixie Chicks, the career suicide bombers of the War on Terror, are female left wing wartime traitors who in a music industry not exactly known for its MENSA members are arguably the dumbest people ever to mistakenly assume that someone who likes your singing automatically wants to hear your opinions about things you don't understand, the Right Brothers are male right wing patriots who are not only smart enough to realize that in CW music patriotism sells, especially during wartime, but also are smart enough (and talented enough) to express themselves quite cleverly and well on a number of political topics in songs they have mostly written themselves.

"From Here On Out" is a self-inclusive criticism of Americans who have failed to defend their culture from left wing secular attack. "The Illegals" is a gentle questioning of the non-enforcement policy on illegal immigration while "What Happened To The Pot?" is a rousing endorsement of the old-fashioned idea of assimilation. "Lonely's Leaving Town" is a poignant song about the joy of reunion only one verse of which is about soldiers, and "For My Country" is a moving tribute to all those who have ever served in the military. "The Waffle House" is a hilarious nightmare about a Kerry Presidency. "I Want My Country Back" is a lament against so-called progress and the disappearance of the rural both in fact and in values. "Hey Hollywood" is a kindly but in your face disagreement with the Hollywood antiwar crowd. "Native Son" is an anthem for today's soldiers, and "Freedom Is Not Free" is an answer to those who say that "war is too big a price to pay". A work-tape of "Waffle House" and a reprise of "For My Country" round out a CD that CW fans should take a chance on before they even consider allowing the Ditsy Chicks to bite their hand again."
