CD Reviews

Sensational sung by june anderson
Andreas Wurmann | Switzerland | 12/12/2006
(5 out of 5 stars)

"I don't know what Mr. Morrison, the critic before, did hear. But it must be another record. I already had some prejudice because of that critic. But i gave it a chance and ordered, and what i hear now is simply wonderful. I never heard something better of Miss Anderson, she sounds youthful, the voice fully conrolled. Even the other singers are a good match, perhaps not the same level. So: my recommendation!"
Excellent

"This rendition of Daphne, recorded live at La Fenice in 2005, is an excellent live recording sure to please fans of June Anderson who turns in a remarkable performance. As the reviewer in Opera magazine noted at the time, "The performance seemed to me an absolute triumph for June Anderson. At a career stage where she could reasonably be expected to scale down effort, ambition and new projects, she has instead taken the admirable decision to continue expanding her artistic range .... [T]he singing offered countless ravishments: crystalline timbre, clean-cut line-delineation, dead-on-target intonation, awesomely easy projection of one perilously exposed high phrase after another." I highly recommend this recording."
