The first two, Smiles and Just Found Joy featured Rich's avant-garde as well as his mainstream jazz music and both received a four star rating from Down Beat. Get Happy is straight-ahead jazz in trio format (Rich Corpolongo, tenor sax; Dan Shapera, bass; Rusty Jones, drums) reminiscent of Sonny Rollins.
