CD Reviews

Incredible CD from an amazingly gifted band
bass boy | Arkansas | 09/30/2005

"This is the major-label debut of this amazingly talented, fantastic band. They sound like no other, on this disc and in concert (they're even a tad bit better live - incredible to witness. they blew the headliners away at the state fair here last weekend.) Heartfelt playing and a marvelous, distinct voice from lead vocalist Reggie. He also is a great keyboardist. (By the way, this band is not a rap group, like some web sites claim. They rock it out with funk, soul, pop and, of course, rock.) This CD version is a revamped, remixed version of their independently-produced 2004 CD, "The Forward Concept." Pick this up now, and then go see them in concert, where you can still get the earlier version of this CD (The earlier version is a bit better with an edgier sound, but the new version is peerless too). These guys are on fire for Christ, and they're letting the world know it. In this day and age of hurricanes and other turmoil, "The Forward Concept" is a blast of positive air and energy. If only this band could get 1/10 of the press and media push that the overrated Green Day and Maroon 5 now get, popular music could regain respect and dignity.

Peace"

Add it to your collection, it will be a favorite

"After following Rhythm for years in the Dallas area, it's good to know that hard work and genuine talent pays off.

Rhythm's release of The Forward Concept comes at a time where music all sounds the same. The unique blend of rock, pop, funk and jazz makes for a unique listening experience that should appeal to those who enjoy music that really crosses genres.

The instrumentation is astounding - moving away from the cookie-cutter setup of a band and incorporating horns really delivers the rich sound that I miss from most radio music today.

Lyrically, Rhythm is positive and uplifting, without being too sugary sweet. Akin to Switchfoot and Lifehouse, Rhythm communicates spiritual truths while delivering them in broadcast form. Not too in-your-face, but not watered down.

Every listener can truly find something good about this CD. And moreover, you'll find that this is a group full of talent and unbelievable originality.

"Smile" is a great pick me up when life's got you down. "Beautiful World" reminds you that things really aren't all that bad and can be greener on this side of the fence.

The only thing the CD lacks is the amazing stage show that comes with the live Rhythm experience.

Definitely worth a purchase and it will be on your favorites list in no time. You'll fall in love with Rhythm. This will be a CD you'll also recommend to your friends, just like I do!"
