2009 release, the second volume in this recently reactivated popular Reggae series from the Trojan label. Following the overwhelming popularity of the initial `Reggae Chartbusters' collection, Trojan were eager to repeat its success, releasing the second set as soon as the company had amassed enough recordings worthy of inclusion. Issued at the tail end of 1970, the LP contained a selection equally as strong as the preceding volume, with major works by Bob & Marcia, Nicky Thomas, the Maytals and Jimmy Cliff among its highlights. The track-listing is enhanced by significant sides by the Melodians, the Pioneers and up-and-coming Kingston-based trio, Bob Marley & the Wailers. Launched by Trojan late in 1969, the Reggae Chartbusters album series swiftly became one of the best-selling lines in the company's catalogue.
