Synopsis

Album Description
In their seventh year of existence, Red Animal War is back with their fourth full-length of biting world commentary, rhythmic cannonades, and catchy, unforgettable choruses. After five East Coast, two Midwest, and three European tours the post-punk funk battalion returns with a twelve-song collection of new and old recordings.  Rare compilation and 7" songs from over the bands history are coupled with six freshly recorded songs with J. Robbins (Against Me!, Dismemberment Plan, Hey Mercedes), Adam Scheuermann (Coldplay-assistant engineer), Matt Barnhart, and others at the helm.  Seven Year War features indications of a darker, more mature sound with the distinctively R.A.W. post-punk funk sound of the band. Album Trivia: Two songs from Seven Year War were recorded at The Hit Factory NYC (U2, John Lennon, Sting, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Biggie Smalls, Paul Simon, 50 Cent). The album is an enhanced CD featuring 9 music videos, including videos directed by Travis Kopach (Matchbook Romance, Straylight Run, Koufax). Many of the intricate photos used in the album artwork were actually accidents due to a "camera problem" on a European Red Animal War tour.  The band did not discover the pleasant result until developing the film.  The double exposures turned out to create beautifully unique photos that combine extremely different spans of time and space into unified photos.

CD Reviews

AMAZING

(5 out of 5 stars)

"This is a great album, form start to finish. Some of you might have already heard a couple of these tracks, the new onew are as follows:

1. The Gaelic Intake

2. The Sky Above The Sky Below

3. Do You Have Any Idea?

4. FFB

5. Easy As You Can

6. Voicemail

7. Enterfear

These are all very amazing tracks, and really give me hope for the future of Red Animal War. This was originally going to be released as an EP, but the band decided to remaster some older, hard to find songs. Over all, this is a return to form after the release of Polizida. That album had some good tracks, but over all, it did not sound like the RAW I've grown to love."
