So said Stetsosonic on the hip-hop classic "Talkin' All That Jazz" back in 1988 and that line says a lot about the direction of the Rebirth of Cool series. Alhtough Jazz is one of the genres featured in "Rebirth" it isn't a Jazz album. Instead "Rebirth" is an auditory bridge connecting the diverse sounds that make up todays pallete of modern urban music. Broken Beats, Drum & Bass and Downbeat lie alongside Deep House, Soul and Hip Hop of the highest order. "Rebirth" is about crossing the lines that divide genres without losing the roots that give the music its soul. A "must have" amalgamation!
