"This cd is electronic minimalism in the vein of well, electronic minimalism. A project conceived by Aden Evens and Constellation label co-founder Ian Ilavsky. Nothing amazing or ground breaking on first listen, you get your loops, your organic noises and the occasional recognisable instrument strum. As I said before, nothing you haven't heard already. However after a few listens you start to notice that this apparent mess of noise and drone is completely deliberate and affecting. Once you give Mnant the chance the rewards are plentiful. Sparse sound scapes that evolve into calculated melody. Another special thing about this cd is the fact it's Constellation 15 and to those of you not in the know you must be in the wrong place because Constellation is very much the coolest label on the planet. This is very different to their normal affair (Godspeed You Black Emperor, Sofa, Do Make Say Think, Frankie Sparo..........) and it is obvious why they would want to broaden their productive horizons. This is a worthy addition to any electronica fan's record collection and for those unintroduced yet willing to take a risk, you can't go wrong with Re:"

"first of all, if you've investigating this album you might have read some reviews that put this out in left field. i read some "professional" reviews that said some outlandish stuff about this album that, upon hearing it afterwards, just didn't make any sense. my favorite ambient album that came out in 2001 was autechre's CONFIELD. my second favorite one is this album.
it's also the crispest recording in the entire constellation catalogue. words really can't describe the music on this album, so let's just call it successfully experimental."
