CD Reviews

And the legend begins
Dr. Stein | Argentina | 04/10/2004
(4 out of 5 stars)

"Rata Blanca is most probably the best power metal band in Argentina. These guys really rock. This is their debut album. You will hear the vocals from behalf of Saul Blanch, who will later on be replaced by Adrian Barilari (Rata's best vocals). These albums contains some of the best songs ever produced by the band: Sueño de la gitana, Rompe el hechizo,Chico callejero, Solo para amarte, and their best hymnic song: El ultimo ataque.
Even though Blanch was later on replaced, his vocal work in this album is really excelent. He can reach high tones almost unimaginable.
We must not forget the band's leader: guitarrist Walter Giardino. Just check out the guitar solos and instrumentals. You won't regret it. If you already know Rata Blanca or you want to try out something new: Get this album!!
The fact that it is in Spanish won't give you any trouble if you really apreciate great band qhen you hear them."

"This CD represent the Black Sabbath for Latin America, now the singer on this cd(the first one) is replaced for one who sings different, same as good but better and is known as the best singer of the band, i recommend first try MAGOS ESPADAS Y ROSAS o EL LIBRO OCULTO, and if those cds really like (im sure they would) by this one an the rest 'cause they woth it"
One of the best metal CDs - ever.

"No matter where you are from, or what language you speak, this band, and this album are incredible. Especially if you are fan of hard-hitting riffs, and incredible guitar soloing. The track "Preludio Obsesivo" is 3:38 seconds of pure guitar soloing, laced with keyboard choir "Ahhs" that remind you of Pink Floyd. The vocals are possibly some of the best vocals in metal, and rock. The riffs are that classic 80's sound. Five stars - don't hesitate, and buy this album!"
