Something of a wonder

"There is something of a wonder that Ms. Flagstad with an utterly beautiful voice can changeover from the mighty Wagner roles to this kind of repertoire. It sounds easy for her to do so - and the result is wonderful. Elisabeth Schwarzkopf has said that she felt she was in doubt about her fitting in this kind of music, and she is not very good here! But it does not in any way disturb this overall fascinating disc. Interestally enough there is another version on the Walhall label, where Dame Schwarzkopf is replaced by the ordinary member of the ensamble, Maggie Teyte."
