(5 out of 5 stars)

"The "Meshes" E.P. was Pram's 4th release, released between full-lengths "The Stars..." and the popular "Helium." If you're familiar with those albums then this is exactly what you'd expect and more. The first track, "Life in the Clouds," is an enjoyable early version of "Dancing on a Star" found on "Helium." Though the ringing is absent in this version, the guitar is a bit more predominant. The best track, "Chrysalis," is that deep track that band fanatics always search for when they go back and try to find an obscure band's out-of-print e.p.'s and singles. This slow song is arranged drums, cello, spacey therimin, keyboard, and a pleasantly somber melody. Thank you Rosie. The last song, "Legendary Band of Venus," is a remake of "Loredo Venus" from "The Stars..." The bass is kicked up a notch, there's an added horn part, and it's about three minutes longer. I like the original better, but this one is still good. All the songs are."
