"This album captures a time (1990's) and place (San Francisco) perfectly. Melnick's voice is haunting. Each of the five songs is a treasure - all these years and I still listen to this at least once a week. If only there were more..."

"It could be that Ben Melnick's woe-is-me (and you too) lyrics are a send-up of the genre, or maybe the guy's got a lot of woe on his hands. Regardless, this 5-song gem beautifully captures early '90s San Francisco, when everywhere you turned there was a REALLY GOOD BAND to listen to. Pounding Birds was one of the best. Their departure from the scene is long lamented. Hopefully Ben has cheered up by now."
