Synopsis

Album Description
Comprised of sisters, roommates, co-workers, and lifelong friends, Pony up! is a genuine labor of love for all involved. With Lisa J. Smith on bass, Lindsay Wills on drums, Laura Wills on keyboards, Sarah Moundroukas on guitar, and Camilla Wynne Ingr on everything else, they rotate lead vocals and deliver inspired harmonies to a rapt audience at every show. Indeed, Montreal's beloved, phenomenal pop combo always bring down the house.

CD Reviews

Sexy, saucy, and sassy...
Jamia | Washington, DC | 03/04/2005
(4 out of 5 stars)

"red hot candy hearts so sweet they'll give you a toothache-- and you'll like it. pony up! is one of those bands that you know is having just as much fun as they did before they cut the record and were practicing in someone's garage. these girls are cute, sweet (i've met them at the black cat in dc), funny, and adorable. they are up front, don't take themselves too seriously, and full of youthful love, hope, lust, playfulness, and of course.... mischeif...

listen to pony up, dance, be nostalgic, look frantically for your crush so you can flirt with them tell them to "shut up and kiss you" and giggle afterward... i love these girls. support their cd. they would be friends with the donnas but they would be a hell of a lot sweeter.

ps. i gave them 4 stars instead of 5 because i was SO upset that they left off the CUTEST song from their 7 inch "Let's talk baseball" (for a song it'll remind you of , think juliana hatfield's "spin the bottle) on the new cd. naughty pony up! how could you keep me away from that song!

"After giving a demo to Ben Lee, Pony Up! (exclamation point mandatory) became the first band signed to his label, Ten Fingers Records. The innocent subject matter of the songs mixed with sweet tones give a warm authenticity that is suspiciously absent from the mainstream music world."
