The Poems are Robert Hodgens (The Bluebells), Adrian Barry (The High Fidelity), Bobby Paterson (Love And Money) and vocalists Kerry Polwart and Amy Ogletree (daughter of the Simple Minds' drummer). Take the cream of the U.K. indie pop vanguard, put them in a Glasgow recording studio with some first time vocalists, and achieve the sublime. Full of chiming acoustic guitars, sweeping vocals, and grand arrangements, The Poems wear their gentle melodicism proudly on their world-worn sleeves. "This CD was a gift for which I had no expectations. How wonderful then to discover what a gem it is! Interesting songs and great melodies with appealing arrangements and singing. This is a CD I can put on regardless of my mood and enjoy. I even heard my 10 year old son singing along with one of the songs today which is a first!"
