Pleasure Bombs Underrated
Donald Newman | PA United States | 03/09/2003
(4 out of 5 stars)

"Bobby Neil and the Pleasure Bombs deserved more recognition than they got. This may not have been what corporate rock wanted at the time, but The Pleasure Bombs were Hot! "Tumblin' Down", and "Pushin' Up" are definate highlights of this hard driving album. They had it all...beautiful singer with awesome pipes, fantastic bass, two great guitarists, and thunderous drums...quite the complete package. Unfortunately, practically the only air play they got was "Summer's Over". In my opinion, this particular song was least representitive of their forte, which was kick ... rock! Bobby Neil, where are you when we need you?"
Excellent, rockin' album that's well worth picking up...!

"I actually the lead singer for the Pleasure Bombs, Janet, back when I worked at a NYC gym and she was a member.

I had the pleasure of seeing them live and they were the real thing. Excellent musicians who put on a great show. No studio tricks needed for this band. Janet has a remarkable and powerful voice and the songs were hooky, cathcy melodic yet rocked.

Reunion time...?
