A Band You Will Soon Come To Love

"Review by Cory Rennison:

When Please Mr. Gravedigger released their amazing debut, Here's to the Life of the Party, there was so much originality and creativity jam packed in to such a short amount of time that one had to question, when will there be more? The band's latest EP, Throw A Beat, teases fans with very small amount of new material.

The album starts off with a short intro, which for an EP is disappointing since there isn't a whole lot of material on here to begin with, however this is a band that excels at the concept of quality over quantity. There isn't a big difference between the sound of Throw A Beat and Here's to the Life of the Party; however, synth seems to be used a little more often on the new material, which is always a good thing, especially on the standout track "Rocket Science". The band just continues to play their own unique form of melodic chaos.

While Throw A Beat isn't very long, it serves its purpose by showcasing some great new songs by a great new band. There is also a hidden track that shows the band's comical side (not to give too much away, but it involves an acoustic guitar and N.W.A.). If you haven't heard Please Mr. Gravedigger, the proper way to be introduced to them is by checking out their debut full length Here's to the Life of the Party. Once you've heard the full length, check out this great continuation of that album.

There aren't enough good things that can be said about Please Mr. Gravedigger. Their music can bring interest to fans of anything from The Blood Brothers to The White Stripes, and everything in between. Don't be surprised if you hear a lot more of these guys in the future."
