Praga's Reminiscences series features audiophile SACD remasterings of historic recordings. This release is the label's fourth disc devoted to the great Italian pianist Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli. His repertory, which ranged from Scarlatti to Ravel, was not extensive, however Michelangeli's playing was always praised for its clarity, luxurious tone and rich color palette. This recital includes the Bach/Busoni Ciaccona and Schumann's Faschingsschwank aus Wien as well as works by Beethoven and Brahms.
