CD Reviews

One of my favorite albums
Garrett Fitzgerald | Brewer, ME USA | 01/19/2000
(5 out of 5 stars)

"My parents brought this album back from a tour of Ireland. The tour guide played "The Town I Loved So Well" while they were making a short trip into Northern Ireland, and there wasn't a dry eye on the bus. Some of the tracks sound more like easy listening (a Henry Mancini medley, for example), but the rest of the songs and stories keep the 5th star."
Wow!

"One question.... is there any Phil Coulter cd that isn't spectacular? And this cd is one of the best of a great bunch."

"I just wanted to let "music fan" and anyone else know that Phil Coulter's CD "The Songs I Love So Well" also has his vocal of "Scorn Not His Simplicity" -- by the way, his son has Down's Syndrome, not autism. The (Songs I Love So Well) CD comes with a songbook, with lyrics and piano sheet music for every song that Phil Coulter has written, including "Home For Christmas", "Home from the Sea", "Take Me Home" and, of course, "The Town I Loved So Well" (do I detect a theme here?)And in answer to another review's question: No, I don't think that Phil Coulter has ever done any CD that was not great!"
