CD Reviews

New age christmas with traditional flavor
psginner | Riverside, Calif. | 12/26/2000
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Many years lapsed between the time I first heard the 11th track of this CD years ago --- when stumbling onto the cartoon short "The Snowman" on PBS --- when I discovered it existed on a full-length CD, I HAD to have it. Since then, everyone I introduce this CD remarks on its uniqueness and asks where to find their own copy. Although tricky to find most anyplace but online, this Christmas CD remains a joyful surprise to rediscover each holiday season. The familiar melodys are laid down with a peaceful mix of elegant vocals and graceful accompaniment. Give this CD a listen, and I'm sure you'll become an instant fan. Only one VERY MINOR complaint about this album: The third and eleventh tracks are mislabeled, which may leave some first-time listeners initially confused."

"I heard this piece in Barnes & Noble while Christmas shopping a few years back and had to have it. It is the most lovely and peaceful rendition of traditional holiday music I have ever heard. I have also used it in Yoga practice. It is absolutely essential."
As peaceful as snow falling on Christmas Eve

"The music here is a nice combination of familiar and unfamiliar Christmas music. The emphasis is on Kim Robertson's breathy but elegant vocals. I find this to be some of the most beautiful and relaxing music I've heard. Since the music is both familiar and new to me, I find I can listen to it anytime of the year."
