"Peter Breiner (the conductor on this disc) adapted Granados' Twelve Spanish Dances for guitar and orchestra...and what a treat. Norbert Kraft plays brilliantly, and the Razumovsky Sinfonia provides excellent support. The Naxos recording is very good. The Granados music is of great beauty throughout, although for me the Escenas Poeticas (especially "Eva y Walter") is the best music on the disc. If you enjoy Spanish music for guitar and orchestra, this disc is an absolute essential."

"Toronto classical guitarist Norbert Kraft just plays the hell out of these often-played Granados dances. Beautiful tone, beautifully recorded, and interpretations of both precision and passion. You will want this one even if you have other performances of the Granados Spanish Dances. Very highly recommended."
